Website maintenance is the least glamorous thing a business buys and the one most likely to be under-scoped. A plan quoted at ₹2,000 a month sounds cheap until you learn it covers plugin updates only, with no backups, no uptime monitoring and no security patching. That is not maintenance, it is a monthly reminder that something could eventually go wrong. The price difference between a real plan and a token plan is usually ₹3,000 a month, which is far cheaper than one unplanned rebuild.

What a maintenance plan should actually cover

Backups you have tested Daily backups stored off the server, with a restore that has actually been performed. An untested backup is a hypothesis, not a safety net.
Security patching CMS core, plugin, theme and server package updates. Most WordPress compromises trace to a delayed update, not to a sophisticated attack.
Uptime and error monitoring Alerts when the site goes down or throws errors, so a problem is found by you or by monitoring rather than by a customer.
SSL, DNS and uptime management Certificate renewal, DNS health, and redirect maintenance. Routine, cheap, and disruptive when it lapses.
Performance checks Monthly Core Web Vitals review so a regression is caught before it costs you traffic.
A defined edit allowance A clear number of small content or layout changes per month. Unlimited edits either mean a very high retainer or a very slow agency.

What is not maintenance

Content marketing Writing and publishing new articles is separate work. A maintenance plan keeps what exists working; it does not grow the site.
New features Adding a booking flow, a payment integration or a new integration is a project, not maintenance.
Redesigns A redesign is a project with its own scope, timeline and price.
Ad management Running ads, and the cost of the ads, sit entirely outside maintenance.

Questions worth asking before you buy anything like this

Are these prices fixed quotes? No, they are bands, and the honest reason is that two projects with the same name can differ by a factor of three. What we do is quote a single fixed number for a single written scope, so you know what you are paying before you commit.
Why do you publish prices at all? Because refusing to talk about money wastes your time and ours. Most people shopping for a website are comparing against other quotes and need a reference point. A published band is more useful than a vague ‘it depends’ and, in our experience, it also qualifies better search traffic.
What would make this cheaper? Fewer features, fewer pages, and a clearer decision about what the site actually has to do. A site that does one thing well on mobile beats a site that does five things poorly, and it costs less to build.
What would make it more expensive? Undecided scope, a requirement discovered in month three, and integrations with systems that were never documented. All three are cheaper to fix before the build starts than after.
Do you offer payment plans or staged billing? Yes. Deposits with milestone payments are standard. For longer projects, staged billing across months is normal and should be in the contract.
